Make sure that all of the engine grounds are clean and secure. There are three grounds on the left side of the engine block. Also check where the battery ground attaches to the body. Make sure that all of the engine grounds are clean and secure. There are three grounds on the left side of the engine block. Also check where the battery ground attaches to the body. The Alternator is not charging the battery. The volt meter in the car stays at the midpoint while running and drops down to the negative when the lights are on. Old alternator was Valeo. 3 wire alternator.The large maxi-fuses generally do not blow and in this case if it did you would see no charge at any time as it is the fuse to the alternator.
